TS-Optics 1.25" - T2 Flip Mirror for photography
Precise focusing and exact centering of an object are important in astrophotography. With the TS-Optics Flip Mirror, you will always find the right focus and the correct position for your celestial images.
The special feature of this accessories is a moving deflection mirror which is operated from the outside by a lever.
-
If the lever is turned to the top, the light passes the unit in an unimpeded manner and falls onto the sensor of the camera which is attached to the backside.
-
If the lever is turned down, the mirror flips in the path of the light and the object becomes visible in the 1.25" eyepiece at the top of the device. There, it can be centered and focused.
The advantages of the TS-Optics Flip Mirror
-
The flip-mirror is an effective focusing aid for DSLR cameras. You calibrate the eyepiece with helical focuser and camera only once, for example with an antenna mast. This can be done at daytime. Afterwards you simply point to any object, focus it in the eyepiece (with the telescope's focuser), turn the lever and start photographing. This is significantly faster and especially more comfortable than focusing through the camera. Especially in animal photography, but also in astrophotography, focusing with an eyepiece is more effective.
-
Webcams or CCD cameras do not have a finder at all, you have to take an image first for checking on the computer monitor whether you have centered the object (planet, lunar crater) exactly. With the Flip Mirror, the calibrating eyepiece turns into an effective camera finder.
-
You can achieve the best possible centering with this flip mirror. Maximum sharpness is offered only in the middle of the image field. Reaching this point is no problem. If the object is in the middle of the eyepiece, it is also in the middle of the camera's sensor.
-
Of course, there are comfortable connections to your telescope. You can insert the flip mirror like a 1.25" star diagonal or remove the receptacle and barrel for attaching the flip mirror by using the T2-threads.
-
The TS-Optics Flip Mirror is suitable for almost all telescopes. It cannot be used with Newtonian telescopes, as it needs too much optical path.
