A classic Fraunhofer refractor with 150mm aperture, good image performance, that is the dream of many amateur astronomers. Until years ago, refractors with a 150mm aperture were still devices for public observatories or for semi-professional amateur astronomers with their own observatories.
This telescope is a good one for observing objects in our solar system. When the air is stable, the moons of Jupiter can already be seen as disks of different sizes. Mars reveals fine structures and the swelling of the ice-covered polar caps can also be observed. The moon is covered with tiny grooves, furrows and craters, where smaller openings simply show smooth surfaces.
Deep sky observation is a pleasure with this refractor. Faint nebula structures can be seen as well as globular clusters beyond our galaxy, which can be resolved into individual stars. We strongly recommend the use of 2" wide field eyepieces, this is the only way to create a feeling of space when viewing large deep-sky objects.
No matter whether photos of objects of the solar system or long exposures of faint nebulae, this refractor brings an exemplary photographic achievement. We recommend, however, nebula filters for deep sky photography in order to increase the contrast values and to use the full resolution.
