Starpointer LED Red Dot Finder with quick release base
The Starpointer red dot finder is very compact, lightweight and affordable. It comes with a dovetail base that fits into most standard finder quick release bases.
The Starpointer can be aligned with two thumbscrews. Finding and centering an object is very convenient and intuitive and often takes only a few seconds.
A red dot is reflected by a 20 mm diameter window. When looking through this window, you will see the red dot "projected" against the night sky. You can adjust the brightness of the red dot.
Practical Tip:
Many telescopes have a standard quick release finder base in which the Starpointer will fit directly. If your telescope does not have one, the bases are available separately. You can find them under "recommended accessories".
We recommend to use the red dot finder in combination with a normal optical finderscope. The red dot finder provides a very quick orientation and helps with the more precise but less intuitive orientation through the optical viewfinder.
