The dovetail clamp has a flat surface with many countersunk holes for easy adaption to flat supporting surfaces. The clamp accomodates GP style and Losmandy style dovetail bars. Clamping is carried out with a proper surface pressure.
Adaption to mounts
Primarily, this dovetail clamp is used for replacing the often simple saddle plate of mounts.
With the optional accessory # 30A057F or 30A057N ("Recommended accessories" section), you can directly attach the universal saddle plate to the EQ6 mount. It is used instead the original quick coupling of the EQ6, so the leverage stay advantageous. For the new Skywatcher mount AZ-EQ5, you don´t need an additional "Puck" plate any more, the clamp fits directly to the mount.
