The new SX2 mount is equipped with the latest STAR BOOK ONE hand controller, which allows you to track objects with ease. (Upgrade to STAR BOOK TEN is possible)
The Sphinx SX2 mount can be set up in a few minutes. A screw secures it to the SXG tripod. The portability of the mount and the easy-to-use hand control are ideal for both beginners and experienced amateur astronomers. The dovetail mount allows you to attach a wide range of commercially available tubes quickly and securely.

High speed precision slewing
The short declination head ensures a short lever and therefore increases the stability of the mount. In addition, the innovative, lightweight housing enables precise motor control.
Optimal motor arrangement
The internal placement of the RA and DEC motors allows the motors to be used as a counterweight. This means that small telescopes do not require any additional counterweights.
Retractable counterweight bar
The counterweight rod made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel can be retracted into the housing of the Sphinx.
Precision stepper motors and micro-step motion control system
The star feature of the SX2 is the precision stepper motors, which offer better performance and responsiveness than previous models. The micro-step motion control system has powerful yet very quiet drive characteristics that offer both fine control and quick swivel movements.
STAR BOOK ONE controller
The STAR BOOK ONE is a multifunctional and intuitive controller that tracks in the RA and DC axis with a range of different speeds. The tracking options are designed for time lapse cameras at a wide range of speeds, including sidereal, lunar and solar rates. The controller also offers many useful functions such as backlash compensation, autoguider port, PEC and a built-in red LED light.
If you want to expand your mount with a GOTO function, you can buy the STARBOOK TEN control separately. You can then convert the mount to a state-of-the-art computer mount that locates all objects fully automatically.
