Vixen POLARIE Star Tracker Mount

The Vixen POLARIE is a totally new foto equipment which enables you to get pinpoint and sharp stars. It has been developed to guide stars and egalize the movement of the earth.

With the POLARIE you can make wonderful pictures from the landscape and the sky in the same picture. The simple and compact design allows the using everywhere on the earth.

Everybody who observed the romatic sky at night, sure has had the wish to take a photo of it. But if you try you will see - it´s not as easy! For the photography of astronomic objects you often has to expose some minutes. Because of the rotation of the earth axle the stars are moving and you will get images with long lines.

With todays digital technique you can have a high sensitivity of the chip and so you will get a short exposure time, but at the same time you will have high noise and the images looks terrible. Beautiful images of the nightsky are impossible this way. Because of this Vixen developed the Polarie Star Tracker, so you won´t have the problem with the moving stars.

If you mount your camera on the Polarie this will be moved contrary the earth rotation and so you will get sharp images with pinpoint stars also at long exposure times.

The POLARIE ist the totally new and unique photographic accessory for images from the night sky with perfectly tracked pinpoint stars. This enables everybody to get simply images from our night sky. With the mulitfunctional wheel you can choose between sky with landscape, moon, sun or siderial tracking. Polar meter for quick allignment. USB-connector for external power consumption and integrated compass to find the direction is included.

Optional you can get a polarfinder for exact allignment to the celestial pole for longtime exposures with telephoto lenses and a tripod.

Simple allignment:

If you only want to take short exposures up to 5 minutes with a 50 mm lens with the Polarie you only need the built in accessory compass, polar sight hole and polar meter.
