TS Dovetail Bar Vixen Level

The dovetail bar allows attaching telescopes to mounts with Vixen level saddle plates. For example, he bar fits to:

• Skywatcher: EQ3, EQ5, HEQ5, AZ-EQ5
• Celestron: Advanced VX
• Bresser Messier EXOS

The dovetail bar can also be used for attaching accessories to the telescope. It can be mounted piggy-back to tube rings or attached directly to tubes. By using a Vixen level saddle plate, any accessories, like a connectable camera bracket or a guide scope, can be attached.

Advantages of the dovetail bar

• The dovetail bar is made of aluminum profile. Owing to this construction, the weight can be reduced to 60%, compared with a solid profile bar with comparable stability, low vibration and stiffness.
• The dovetail bar provides support for flat surfaces like the lower part of tube rings. The width is 70 mm - more than most dovetail bars offer. In addition, the bar has different radii for telescopes from 6" to 11" aperture. Thus, the bar can be attached directly to tubes and has full contact to the surface.
• The dovetail bar fits directly to telescopes from Celestron (C8, C9.25, C11 and EHD-800, EHD-925, EHD-1100) and Meade (8" SC and 8" ACF - and, with minor adaptions, 10" SC and 10" ACF). Matchings bores exist. For Celestron, even matching screws are included.
• Bores and female threads for almost all adaptions exist. Beside bores for Celestron and Meade SCTs, you can attach almost all adaptions to the bar with the long bores and 1/4" female threads.

Base for accessories at the telescope

Especially astrophotographers like to attach accessories like small guide scopes, balance weights systems or camera brackets to the telescope. Simply mount the lightweight dovetail bar to the telescope and you can effortlessly attach accessories by using a suitable saddle plate.
