Our goal was to provide a worthy successor to the legendary 80mm LOMO Triplet Apo with this telescope, which can meet the highest demands both optically and mechanically. We have succeeded in doing this with the new TLAPO804-FT. The refractor is one of the best telescopes in its class and is an ideal travel telescope. Astrophotographers and nature observers will have a lot of fun with the telescope.

The lens has been extensively tested by us. The result is clear: even at a magnification of over 200x, the image remains snow-white. No color defect will be visible. If the telescope is used for astrophotography, even bright stars will not show any blue color fringes, as is the case with doublet lenses or triplet lenses with FPL-51 or similar apochromatic elements.

The focuser is a Starlight Instruments FeatherTouch™ FTF2025BCR with 63mm focus travel. It's one of the best you can get right now. The focusing drive as well as the bearing and position clamping are tentatively solved.

Accessory recommendations:

Starlight RISER: Extension tubes to exand diatance of the focuser from the tube. For visual observation and astrophotography with the 2" flattener TSFSLAT2 we recommend the R20-1.4 with a length of 35.6mm

TSO-TSFLAT2: TS field flattener for astrophotography - the corrector does not change the focal length. It offers full correction and illumination up to full frame sensors. The optimal distance from the M48 thread of the flattener to the camera sensor is 123mm. We are happy to offer you a complete adapter kit.

TSO-TSRED279-80: 0.79x 4-element focal reducer and field flattener - This reducer illuminates camera sensors up to APS-C format, with full correction. The focal length of the apo is reduced to 379mm and the aperture ratio increased to f/4.74.
