A robust spider guarantees good adjustment stability. The TSSPD not only provides a secure hold for your Newtonian secondary, it also enables collimation of the secondary. 3x M4 internal threads are provided for this purpose.
The stainless steel secondary mirror arms are between 0.5 mm and 1.5 mm thick, depending on the size. This reduces disturbing diffraction phenomena around bright stars to a minimum and improves contrast.
This secondary mount is ideal for do-it-yourself construction, but it can also be used with commercially available Newtonian telescopes, for example from Skywatcher, GSO, Celestron ... Celestron ... We also have suitable mirror mounts in our range (see accessory recommendations).
Advantages and features of the secondary mount:
- Flexible - suitable for telescopic tubes from 123 mm to 460 mm inner diameter.
- Lock nuts for the tube are included in delivery
- Suitable for secondary holders from 30 mm diameter on the lower base
Collimation of the secondary with M4 thumbscrews - 2x3 M4 internal threads are provided. - Diameter of the central part (circular blank): 30 mm 8 depending on size up to 58mm)
- The diameter of the inner hole for the counter screw is 4.5 mm (5.5mm depending on the size). This means that secondary mirror mounts with M4 internal thread can be used. However, the hole can easily be drilled out, for example for M6 or 1/4" screws.
- The four secondary mirror arms are fixed with screws. This allows a high tensile load to be built up.
