TS-Optics Adapter to M48x0,75 female thread for UNC focusers and TeleVue
TS-Optics connection adaptor for correctors to the TS-Optics UNC focuser and to the TeleVue 2,4" thread
Many
astrophotographers prefer a screwed adaptation because lateral clamping
can tilt the corrector or flattener. This causes distorted stars in
corners and makes the image look unasthetic.
The 2" UNC focusers
from TS-Optics therefore have a 2,4" TeleVue thread (roughly 65mm
diameter) at the end of the 2" draw tube. With this Adapter you are able
to attach correctors without clamping and without losing the required
precision. The clamping screws then become superfluous.
Correctors with M48x0,75 thread connectionThe
adapter is screwed on the corrector´s M48 thread. The female thread of
the adapter is only 2mm short. This means you have easily enough space,
because the connection thread of correctors tends to be 4-5mm long.
Then, the corrector with the screwed-on adapter is inserted into the UNC
focuser.
Baader MPCC coma corrertorThe adapter could as well
be made for the MPCC. Simply remove the protection ring of the
corrector to reveal the M48x0.75 thread. Then you screw the adaptor on
the corrector. Now you can screw both into the UNC. The MPCC´s T2 thread
can be used for the rest of your adaptation.
Corrector and flattener with T2 threadCorrectors
with the smaller M42x0,75 connection thread can also be screwed onto
UNC focusers. Insert the corrector into the draw tube. Then pull on the
TS65-M48i adaptor which fixates the corrector. The adaptor now has the
function of a retaining ring.
