Product description
TS-Optics 70 mm F6 ED Travel Refractor with modern 2" RAP Focuser

TS Optics 70 mm f/6 Travel Apo with high-quality ED objective

This ED refractor is an ideal telescope for travel and mobile use. The telescope weighs only about 2 kg and thanks to the retractable dew cap it is only 30 cm short. No other telescope in its class offers this.

The high-quality 2-element objective provides sharp and high-contrast images and enables magnifications of up to approx. 180x. With it you can already observe details on planets. The newly developed 2" RAP (rack and pinion) focuser is superior to standard Crayford focusers and holds even heavy photographic accessories safe. The micro-reduction is ideal for astrophotography and allows precise focusing.

Watching with the TS 70 mm f/6 ED:
The TS 70 mm ED refractor is a great telescope for all areas of observation. Thanks to the sturdy 2" eyepiece focuser, you can also use 2" accessories. The image is brighter and more contrasting than with comparable spotting scopes. With the 2" wide angle eyepiece TSWA38 you can achieve an extreme field of view of 6.3°. This makes ultimate large field observations possible.

The well corrected ED objective, on the other hand, allows magnifications of up to 180x without annoying color errors. With it you can see details on the moon, structures on planets or separate distant double stars.

The TS 70 mm f/6 ED refractor is very well suited for astrophotography.
The precise focuser and the powerful optics make the 70 mm ED a good telescope for astrophotography. Connect your SLR camera or astro camera to the telescope and start the adventure of astrophotography. In order to correct the image field for the photography of nebulae, star clusters and galaxies (deep-sky photography), we recommend correctors, these are also linked in the accessories area.

TSFLAT72 - 1.0x flattener
The focal length and aperture ratio are not changed. The corrector is ideal for DSLR cameras and CCD cameras with larger sensors. The recommended working distance from the M48 thread is 55 mm. The flattener is screwed directly to the M54 connection thread of the focuser.

TSRED80 - reducer and field correction
This corrector is actually designed for the 80 mm f/7 ED. But it also performs well at 70 mm f/6. The focal length is shortened to 336 mm and the speed increases to f/4.8. We recommend a working distance of 63 mm to improve the correction factor. Adapting a DSLR camera is easy, all you need is a T2 extension tube with 8 mm (TST2V8) and the matching T2 ring.

Finder holder for TS 70 mm ED refractor:

The small ED becomes a super-finder with a 2" star diagonal and a long focal length eyepiece. Nevertheless, the ED also offers the possibility to mount a finder or a small telescope.

  • TSSUBA TS finder shoe (flexible base) - this viewfinder shoe fits directly on the focuser. Here only one of the two M4 blind screws has to be unscrewed. The finder shoe is then fastened with an M4 countersunk head screw. This can be used to mount compact red dot finders (see figure no. 4 above).

Adaption to photo tripods or mounts
The flexible plate at the base makes mounting easy. You can mount the refractor like a spotting scope or telephoto lens directly on photo tripods. With the matching dovetail bars you achieve a stable attachment to altazimuth and equatorial mounts.
