This guidescope is not a simple converted finder. The telescope was specially developed for tracking at high resolution with guiding cameras that have very small pixels. The triplet ED objective produces very precise star images and thus guarantees accurate tracking despite the short focal length of only 132 mm. Telescopes up to 10" aperture can thus be guided with the appropriate tracking camera.
On the camera side, the TSL40ED has a T2 thread and a screw-on 1.25" adapter, for example for guiding cameras with a 1.25" housing. With T2 extension rings (optional) you can get your camera at the optimal distance. Once you have achieved the exact focus, tighten the blue counter ring. Then nothing will move.
A holder and a dovetail bar are screwed onto the carbon tube, allowing you to insert the guide scope into all standard finder shoes, for example from Celestron, Skywatcher, TS-Optics and GSO.
