Product description
TS Optics 1.25" Filterset - 4 filters for telescopes from 80 mm aperture

4 color filters for planets and moon. They can be combined with each other.

With this set of four high quality TS filters, one can improve the observation quality on Moon and Planets. Even at double stars, improvements are possible. The filters can be used for both visual observation and photography.

This set is recommended for telescopes from 80mm aperture. All filters are made from optical glass substrate, have a metal mount with threads on both sides.

Our set includes the following filters
  • Yellow #12
Enhances contrast on the moon, reveals surface details and clouds on Mars, enhances cloud structures on Jupiter (e.g. the Great Red Spot). Can be used in double star observations with refractors, because it reduces false colour in Fraunhofer refractors
  • Light Red #23A
For very high contrast on the Moon, suitable for small aperture telescopes. This filter is used when observing the polar ice caps on Mars (100mm aperture and larger). Well suited for Venus by blocking the blue daylight. The sky appears black.
  • Blue #80A
General contrast gain on the moon, off its terminator. Enhances contrast in Jupiter's and Saturn's cloud bands. Enhances surface details on Mars. In large aperture telescopes you may see cloud details on Venus. Good comet filter, because it boosts contrast in the comet's tail.
  • Green #56
An important universal contrast filter. Drastically boosts contrast on the Moon, better contrast even far off the terminator. Suitable for low magnifications. This filter is especially effective on Jupiter, revealing the famous Great Red Spot and other reddish details in the Jovian atmosphere. White spots in Saturn's atmosphere are enhanced in telescopes of 200mm aperture or larger..

General information about the filters
  • Plano-parallel, polished glass substrate and anti-reflective coated surfaces
  • Metal cell with M28.5 filter threads on both side, suitable for 1.25" eyepieces and adapters
  • Filters can be combined by screwing them into each other
