Product description
TS collimating telescope for RC, Cassegrain and Dall-Kirkham telescscopes as well as Refractors

With the collimating telescope you can perfectly adjust your telescope within a few minutes.

With most adjustment tools, it is difficult to identify the individual elements that can be seen when looking into the telescope. This makes a systematic adjustment difficult and the adjustment time-consuming and inaccurate.
With the TS collimating telescope, these problems are a thing of the past: You focus on the element to be adjusted (e.g. secondary mirror) with the sliding focuser and are not distracted by the other components or reflections.

Thanks to the two-stage integrated illumination, the telescope can also be adjusted in a bright environment. The generously dimensioned battery allows an operating time of over 20 hours, so that even with frequent use - for example in professional use - recharging is rarely necessary.

Special features of the TS collimating telescope

  • M48 thread on the telescope side
  • M48 to T2 adapter included in scope of delivery
  • Adapter for M90 and M117 available
  • 1.25" eyepiece clamp and T2 thread on the eyepiece side
  • Insertion or screwing of a camera possible
  • Insertion of an alignment laser possible
  • Suitable for adjusting refractors
  • To be able to focus on the objective of short focal length refractors, the telescope can be extended with standard T2 sleeves.
  • Two eyepieces are included in the scope of delivery.
  • The included eyepieces can also be used for observation.

Using an adjustment laser
Especially with RC telescopes, the axis of the focuser flange should first be adjusted correctly. The frequently used method of only paying attention to the center mark of the secondary mirror can lead to deterioration of the adjustment.
A laser is used for this adjustment.
With other adjustment aids, you must switch between the laser and the adjustment device. However, the laser can be connected directly to the TS adjustment telescope.

Using a camera
A camera can be inserted into the 1.25" connector of the TS collimating telescope instead of the eyepiece. If you collimate your telescope without focuser, i.e. with directly screwed collimating telescope, a camera must always be connected to the 1.25" clamp, because for focusing there must be a possibility of moving the camera.
If you collimate with the focuser in place, you can also use the T2 thread to mount the camera. Depending on the backfocus of the camera, it may be necessary to remove one of the two T2 rings.

Adjustment of smaller RC telescopes
For RC telescopes with six and eight inch aperture, the circumferential light gap (gap between the baffle tubes) is mostly used for adjusting the main mirror. In newer telescopes, this gap is no longer visible, so this adjustment reference is missing. Alternatively, the brackets of the secondary mirror spider can be used; however, these are difficult to see, which makes the adjustment result inaccurate. With the TS collimating telescope, you can see these brackets significantly magnified and easily adjust the telescope.

Adjusting refractors
Thanks to the bright integrated illumination, refractors can also be adjusted without any problems. The different colored (depending on the coating) and different sized ring-shaped reflections on the surfaces can be highlighted or dimmed via the sliding focus adjustment.

To adjust refractors with a short focal length, it may be necessary to extend the focus adjustment range of the collimating telescope. Commercially available T2 extension sleeves can be used for this purpose.

Adjusting the adjusting telescope? No!The TS collimating telescope has no parts that can become misaligned. Therefore, checking and adjusting is not necessary.

Eyepieces for two magnifications. You can use the included eyepieces according to your requirement on the adjustment telescope, but also for observation. Basically, any eyepiece that has a standard 1.25" filter thread on the body can be used in the collimating telescope. However, we cannot guarantee that every combination will lead to a perfect adjustment result.
