Skywatcher finishes the rich-field telescope family with this top-of-the-line telescope. These fast (f/5) systems are optimized for visual observation of wide fields objects with low magnification. Here, this model is nearly unbeatable because the chromatic aberration appears mainly at higher magnifications. No other rich-field telescope system can offer the contrast performance of a refractor with its 0% obstruction. Even Nebulae that are minimal brighter than the background area can be detected This results in fine but obvious structures and pinpoint stars only a refractor can offer.
This telescope is not suitable for lunar and planetary observations. If you want to take a side-look on the moon or our planets, we suggest using an appropriate filter to reduce the blue colour fringe to a tolerably level. Nebulae, star clusters and galaxies can be photographed very good but bright stars are depicted as big spots due to chromatic aberration. We do not recommend this telescope for capturing the moon or the planets.
