Only the best is good enough for discerning hunters and shooters. The clearest images, unique ergonomic design and fast, reliable measurements - this combination makes the Geovid rangefinder binoculars leaders in their class. The highest optical quality, superior mechanics and a robust, slim design give them long-lasting value for generations. The Leica Geovid R models measure precisely and with repeatable accuracy - whether at long distances, in the mountains or in wind and weather.

With the new generation of Geovid R binoculars with rangefinder, Leica is once again setting new standards. Completely revised and technically updated, the new Geovid R models impress in every detail. Leica remains true to its brand promise and focus on ‘the essentials’ and continues to establish itself as a pioneer with 30 years of experience in rangefinding.

Anyone who does not want to choose between high-performance optics in binoculars and a precise rangefinder will find the best possible combination in one product at an attractive price. The extremely compact, lightweight premium binoculars deliver an outstanding field of view in their class as well as images with a wealth of detail and fascinating colour fidelity.

With an improved measuring range of up to 1,800 metres, you are perfectly equipped for almost all hunting applications. The EHR ballistics function, which outputs the level distance for angled shots at distances of up to 1,100 metres, also increases the safety of the shot.

The newly developed Geovid R models concentrate fully on Leica's core values: high-performance premium optics, precise rangefinding, maximum optomechanical reliability and simple, intuitive operation. Thanks to highly efficient production and a focus on the essentials, no one has to choose between conventional binoculars and a rangefinder.
Leica Geovid R 8x56

The lightweight design with 7 mm exit pupil guarantees successful use right into the deep twilight. These binoculars with their proven optical values are ideal for sitting game. These binoculars allow fatigue-free observation over long periods of time. The very bright and clear image is immediately noticeable. A real night binocular that can be easily operated even in winter with thick gloves. As with all Leica GeovidR models, the display illumination is automatically regulated in the dark.

Best image quality

Despite the additional laser rangefinder, the Leica Geovid R is characterised by very good image quality. The impressive optics are the best in their class and almost achieve the image quality of binoculars without a rangefinder. This means that there is no reason to do without the laser rangefinder in order to obtain better image quality at the same price. Colour brilliance, resolution and contrast of the image are crucial when identifying animal species, for example. The sharpness right up to the edge of the image enables the smallest details to be identified in any situation. The high colour fidelity makes the finest nuances of the observed object visible. The Leica Geovid R fulfils the requirements of professionals. And this for binoculars in the entry-level segment of the Leica binocular world. In addition, Leica's extensive experience in the efficient suppression of stray light comes to the fore with these binoculars. This is achieved by means of special apertures in the beam path, among other things, and leads to a further improvement in image quality. Extremely low component tolerances and constant checks during precision mechanical production guarantee precise adjustment of the entire optical system. The robustness of the mechanics enables practically unrestricted continuous use. The valuable optics are multi-coated.

Simple operation

When using Leica Geovid R laser binoculars, the user should be able to concentrate fully on the observation. To achieve this, the design and functionality must be such that operation is practically intuitive. This has been achieved perfectly with the Leica Geovid R. The binoculars can be taken straight out of the packaging and used without any lengthy preparation or prior knowledge. Only the supplied battery needs to be inserted.
The large, easy-to-grip rotary wheel in the centre can be used to focus at lightning speed. It can be easily operated with the fingertips or even with gloves, and every user will immediately notice the smooth running of the Leica mechanism. Thanks to the solid articulated bridge, the almost indestructible robustness of the construction can also be felt and also makes it easy and safe to adjust the eye relief.
Optimising the ergonomics also includes the arrangement of the control buttons in easily accessible positions. The distance measurement of the Leica Geovid-R is controlled with just two buttons. The Leica Geovid R displays the direct distance to the target point at the touch of a button. If you wish, you can switch on the EHR display for steep shots. In this case, the Geovid R displays the distance that would be appropriate for a straight shot. This allows the shooter to use the trajectory data as for straight shots. In other words, the well-known but imprecise hunter's rule of ‘uphill and downhill always below!’ is replaced by precise figures with the Geovid R. This function measures the respective shot angle and then outputs the ‘equivalent horizontal distance’. This is hidden behind the abbreviation EHR for ‘Equivalent Horizontal Range’, which is commonly used internationally. Last but not least, the Geovid R can be switched to metres and yards.

Maximum precision

Light travels at a speed of around 300,000 metres per second. The Leica Geovid R is able to stop the time from the emission of the laser measuring beam until the reflection of the target object arrives back in the binoculars. The Leica electronics in the binoculars can precisely determine the distance from the unimaginably short transit time. And this with the smallest of deviations. For this reason, the Geovid R can not only be used for very long shots up to 1800 metres, but is also very interesting for archers at shorter distances. As the arrow describes a very pronounced ballistic curve during flight, exact measurement at close range is of particular importance here.
Incorrect measurements are largely ruled out with the Geovid R. This is where the high-quality rangefinder really shows what it can do. Whether in rain or other adverse weather conditions, extreme temperatures or poorly reflective objects, you can rely on the Geovid R in all situations. The solid aluminium housing enclosed in a particularly resistant rubber armouring protects the precise mechanics and electronic components from shocks and environmental influences.

To ensure that the desired target object is measured and not other small objects that cross the path of the laser, the Geovid R is equipped with an ingenious two-target logic. This ensures, for example, that the desired distance is measured to the deer and not to a small bird on a fence. Grass and branches are also reliably filtered out at close range. This means that measurements can be taken safely and easily when stalking or sitting in a meadow.
