Kite Binoculars APC 16x42 with Image Stabilisation
The Kite BINO APC STABILIZED 42 binoculars offer the highest magnification among binoculars with 42 mm objective lens diameter and at the same time the best stability for a steady image.
The APC Stabilised binoculars from Kite are among the best binoculars with image stabilisation currently available on the market. Compared to previous binoculars with built-in stabilisers, they are characterised by a particularly compact design and a relatively low weight. At the same time, the APC binoculars achieve magnifications of 12x and even 16x. Until now, these magnifications were only offered in rare exceptions or in combination with tripod adapters.
As with the smaller version, the Kite APC Stabilized 30 binoculars, the concept of the 42 mm version has been well thought out and designed to reduce image shake to a maximum, regardless of the cause. For example, the image stabilisation angle of the 42 mm variant of the Kite APC binoculars is 2 °, which is far above what other image-stabilised binoculars offer. This compensates for trembling hands after a strenuous tour and even more: these binoculars also suppress the vibrations on a high observation tower, for example, which sways in the wind or trembles due to the footsteps of other visitors on the steps. Even the strong vibrations caused by a running ship's engine during observations at sea are easily compensated for by the binoculars, even at 16x magnification.
At the same time, special emphasis was placed on a long battery life when developing the binoculars. This means that the image stabilisation function of the binoculars is always ready for use. However, should the battery nevertheless run out, the binoculars can still be used as such. The APC Stabilised 42 binoculars achieve a battery life of up to 120 hours. This is further improved by the intelligent automatic switch-off. For example, the image stabilisation switches off as soon as the binoculars are in a vertical position, i.e. hanging downwards from the observer's neck. If the observer moves the binoculars to a horizontal position, the image stabilisation switches on again automatically. In addition, the image stabilisation automatically switches off after 90 minutes, regardless of the position of the binoculars. The binoculars are powered by two conventional AA batteries or rechargeable batteries. The binoculars have two battery compartments. One for the batteries currently in use and a second for extra batteries that can be inserted when needed.
Even on rough observing days when the wind blows and the rain whips across the land, these binoculars will not let the observer down. The Kite APC Stabilized 42 are IPX 7 waterproof and filled with nitrogen to prevent fogging from the inside. The close focus limit of four metres makes it possible to see details that remain hidden at lower magnifications, even at short distances. The long focusing roller in the centre of the binocular body measures almost four centimetres, making it easy to reach and operate.
The BINO APC STABILIZED 16x4216x magnification with 4 mm objective lens diameter are a hitherto hardly known combination of compactness and highest magnification. These binoculars offer the most detailed impressions at long range and at the same time an exit pupil that is still large enough for a bright image on cloudy days.
The most important features of the Kite APC STABILIZED 42 in a nutshell:
Image stabilisation like never before seen
The image stabilisation angle of the APC 42 binoculars goes far beyond the suppression of image vibrations caused by wind or hand tremors. APC here stands for "Angle Power Control". APC-stabilised binoculars have a stabilisation system that even allows a steady view from moving vehicles, boats, planes and other unstable platforms.
120 hours of battery life with APC energy saving.
These binoculars are powered by two standard AA batteries or rechargeable batteries. This gives it a runtime of 60 hours each. At the same time, it has a second battery compartment in which spare batteries or rechargeable batteries can be carried for another 60 hours of runtime. The most important feature of the KITE APC system, however, is the automatic switch-off of the image stabilisation when the binoculars are not in an observation position. This once again significantly conserves battery life.
Waterproof and gas-filled
The APC 42 binoculars are waterproof. The optical system and electronics are sealed to achieve the IPX 7 waterproof standard. The system is nitrogen-filled, which prevents internal fogging.
