BW optics / Rodenstock eyepiece 40mm
The huge field of view of 70 ° of the modified eyepiece was realized by Rodenstock through the use of a meniscus doublet of 70 mm outside diameter. The enormous field of view is at 40 mm focal length with exit pupil position of 25 mm (v.l., lens vertex) very pleasantly manageable.
Professional high-performance eyepieces with such huge lens assemblies are something very special for astronomers. Sales is hardly justified on the open market for cost reasons.
