Astronomik UV/IR Blocking Filter - 1.25" (L-Filter)

For the taking of LRGB images with your CCD camera together with the Astronomik RGB filters we offer you this L-filter. This filter blocks the IR and UV light.

CCD sensors are not only sensitive for the visual spectrum, but also for the infrared light. Also modern chips have a sensitivity for UV. For images, especially with short and fast refractors this sensitivity produces unlovely halos around stars. Also some of the best apochromatic refractors will have these halos. To eliminate them you need the filter. Also you need this filter for cameras like the ones from "The Imaging Source" which won´t have the blocking filter inside for the photography of moon and planets.

This filter is homofocal to the Astronomik RGB filter and the CCD line filters. You don´t have to refocuse your system.
