Our high-quality, universal flattener for apochromats was calculated by the famous optics designer Massimo Riccardi. A flattener "levels" the optical problems in the image field such as coma and astigmatism and leads to a similarly perfect image as on the optical axis itself. The flattener model 1 is especially designed for short focal lengths and faster aperture ratios and currently represents the limit of what is possible.
There is currently no comparable flattener on the market with such a good apochromatic longitudinal and transverse aberration correction. Other cheaper models, on the other hand, clearly fall behind. This can be seen on the one hand in their significantly higher edge vignetting, but mainly in their drastically larger lateral color errors. This flattener allows a generous working distance from the thread to the focus of over 90mm, see attached file. So that there is space for all common accessories such as filter wheels.
