APM-Telescopes presents a new telescope in our APM Professional range. It´s a classical Cassegrain with a very sturdy and precise truss tube. At the begin we offer this telescope with an aperture of 12". You can choose your individual focal ration. From f/9 for a photographic version with optional correctors up to the f/20 telescope for planetary observations.

The obstruction differs with your individual requirements. For a planetary telescope you should have a small secondary but for astrophotography you will prefer a large illuminated field and so you need a larger secondary. Also the backfocus will be adjusted for you. Normally it´s 250mm.

Very interesting at our Cassegrain is the electronic focusing of the secondary. The result is a very precise focusing without shifting. It is controlled via a handbox which enables you to adjust the speed with a potentiometer. Optional a controlling with your PC (remote operation) is possible.

The tube is made in classical truss tube design, which has been used here 2 times. A very sturdy ring in the middle allows the mounting of the telescope on your mount. This results in a very torsionally rigid tube and also the use of carbonfibre rods ensures a stable focus at temperature drifts. The bottom part of the tube is covered by a carbon fibre tube to protect the mirror. All other parts are built of massive black coated aluminium.

With a diameter of ca. 40cm (Lenght differs with the focal ratio - max. 130cm) and a weight of ca. 77lbs this telescope is mostly transportable and can be used on many mobile mounts. So you can get the full capability of the scope under perfect conditions.

Every customer wish is possible with this telescope. You can get it with different accessories or in a Ritchey Cretien version - the prices varies with the accessories and options. The above price is for the standard version.
