Antlia Energy Rejection Filter for Solar Observation and Photography
The filter is placed in front of the H-alpha or calcium attachment. The filter reflects the thermal radiation. When used in a refractor, the solar energy is already concentrated by the lens. We therefore recommend using the filter up to a maximum aperture of 100mm. Larger apertures should be fitted with an energy blocking filter in front of the objective.
The transmission of the filter
The ERF has two transmission ranges, H-alpha around 656.3 nm and a window around CaK (393 nm) and CaH (396.8 nm). This allows the important spectral ranges for solar observation and photography to pass through. Other bands, especially IR light, are reflected.
