The ALCCD9 uses the high resolution black and white Kodak KAF8300 sensor with nearly 9 million pixel. The size of each pixel is only 5.4 µm square. That´s small enough to get the optimal sampling at high resolution systems. The sensor has a size of nearly 23 mm diagonal and so it´s large enough for the most applications.
Optimal for the most correctors and flatteners:Most telescopes are well corrected for the typical DSLR format. So the high resolution chip with 23 mm diagonal is perfect. In addition the sensor is rectangular with a side ratio of 4:3, what´s the best for the computer monitor.

Cooling of the ALCCD9:
The further developed cooling and the new housing of the ALCCD9 alows the camera to cool the chip down to 50°C below ambient temperature. The controlling of the temperature will be done over the camera software.
The controlling software:CCDCap is the controlling software for the camera. With this software you can use all features of the camera. Also included are the driver for MSB AstroArt and MaxIm DL. CCDCap is easy to handle and perfect for beginners in the astronomy photography. All features can be used intuitiv.
