Product description
ALCCD5II SW Guiding and Planetary Camera with Micron CMOS Chip MT9M001

The ALccd5 is a CMOS-Camera, comparable in sensitivity and noise with a Webcam, but equipped with a black and white chip and a built in Guiding interface. With the ALccd5 Camera you will get a powerful Autoguider. It has a interface to directly connect it to a mounting controller (you should have an Autoguider port and a PC). Also you can use the ALccd5 as an classical Webcam.

The camera is equipped with the powerful CMOS-Chip from the manufacturer Micron. This features the new DigitalClarity® Technology. The MT9M001-Chip has extremely low noise combined with a high sensitivity. The resolution is nearly the same as a comparable CCD-Chip.Additional the power consumption of this chip is lower and the price of the CMOS-Chip is lower too.

The choosen CMOS-Chip of the ALccd5 differs in the size to the Guiders of other companys. The Pixel are smaller and the camera is a black and white version with a higher sensitivity.

Please note, this camera is specially made for autoguiding and planetary photography with exposure times not longer than 1 minute. Deep Sky photography with this camera is not useful.

This camera don´t need an external power supply. The power is supplied over the USB cable which is included. Also a standard RF-12 autoguiding cable will be delivered with the camera. This is working with the controllers from Koch FS2, Vixen StarBook, Sky-Watcher SynScan, Celestron NexStar, Losmandy Standard and Gemini (also older versions), Takahashi Temma, Astrophysics, Pulsar and many more.

For the modern electronic of the ALccd5 you will need a PC with USB 2.0 interface. The operating software is compatible to Windows XP (SP2), Vista and Windows 7 in 32- and 64 bit.

For autoguiding we recommend the ASCOM-compatible software packages MSB AstroArt, PHD or MaxIm DL. For recording you can use the included ALccd Software QGVideo.
